David Van Hemelryck's summers are a constant cycle. Piloting a small plane or a microlight, this far-right activist flies over French beaches to unfurl a "Destitution" banner, the "o" being replaced by a silhouette of Emmanuel Macron, leaving no doubt as to the destination of this message. On Monday, August 4, he flew over the beaches of Mimizan in the Landes region to engage in his little summer propaganda exercise that he has been practicing since... 2013 and the beginning of François Hollande's term.
It was that year, during the heated debate surrounding marriage for all, that David Van Hemelryck had tested his method of action. He crisscrosses the beaches of the French coast with his small aircraft towing a "Hollande get out" banner during the summer period, or distributes whistles during the July 14 parade to boo the current president. Several of his actions, including one during the commemorations of November 11, 2013 to prevent François Hollande "from laying a wreath on the tomb of a soldier who, himself, was courageous!", earned him trials in which he was not convicted .
